Thursday VIP Dinner

Thursday, April 6, 2017 – 6 to 8pm

Thursday evening meal included in VIP run package.

The weekend officially begins for all VIP Pass Holders.

Attention Bikers!

We have not had an official ride due to poor weather conditions in the past, however this year looks like the time for a terrific ride. Our road captain has planned a 4.5 hour ride on Saturday, April 2nd, that will include the battlefield, downtown Gettysburg, beautiful Adams County and the Michaux State Forest with opportunities to stop and have a cigar or drink along the way. The ride will be approximately 4.5 hours, and leave promptly from the host hotel at NOON. Have your tank and your belly full before we leave. We will monitor conditions, and post any last minute updates by 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March, 30. Please contact ****** if you plan to go.

Proposed route:

We will leave the host hotel and proceed north to the southern end of the battlefield with a short stop at Little Round Top, the Union’s defense at the end of the battle. Then proceed to the Pennsylvania monument (hey, you are in Pennsylvania), which offers a magnificent lookout over the southern battlefield towards Little Round Top, to gain a bit of history of the Union vs. Confederate positions and how the land shaped the ultimate outcome of the most significant battle of the Civil War. From there, we will proceed through down-town Gettysburg, and head northwest through beautiful Adams County and portions of the east end of Michaux State forest to King’s Gap Environmental Center, which has a historic mansion and amazing views of the surrounding area. Following this stop, we will proceed through the western portion of the Michaux State Forest to Route 30, and head back towards Gettysburg with a stop at a cigar-friendly bar for the chance for a smoke and libation. The tour will end with a brief circle through the northern end of the battlefield where the fighting began, with a stop at a lookout tower, then proceed back to the host hotel.

If there is sufficient interest, the ride can be modified to include a stop at either Battlefield Leathers for those who wish to shop for gear, including Gator Skins thermals, or Battlefield Harley-Davidson.

We look forward to seeing you on your bike!
